Storm was once the head priestess of one of the many halls of worship dedicated to the Stormcatcher, but when she helped an injured shade-touched child, she was labelled Renegade and imprisoned for it. The title was then solidified when she somehow escaped and entered the tutelage of the Heretic Knight. As she was the first student, many began to treat her as the heir apparent not just to the Shade Crest but also to the 6 Crests of Hades. Hence they expected the Stormcatcher to rescind his powers from her yet when the dragons saw her in the battlefield, it was clear that she still held the favour of the Stormcatcher. In addition, the students of the Academy would often see her in a field of lightning, dancing a dance of worship. After rumours that she had continued her worship of the Stormcatcher, even despite her new allegiance, many dragons truly loyal to the Stormcatcher, or had been helped by her over the years, rallied to give her the Priestess title back, yet they were silenced by the halls. So in an attempt to circumvent this censor, they started to spread the title Paragon.

╔══════════════════════════Familiar═╗
In a week when the Stormcatcher's influence is greater than any other deity, when Storm was still held captive in the dark dungeon in the unseen darkness of a hall of worship, her resolve had started to waver. Her faith, not in the Stormcatcher but in those who claimed to worship him, had started to fade, and in its place came the sweet whispering of the Shade. Her devotion to the deity of the storm held the Shade at bay, but could do nothing to the anger and sadness that the betrayal of her fellow had caused. The Stormcatcher could feel her struggle, devotion, and anger, the latter of which he himself felt for these so-called pious worshippers of his. But before he let his disgust show towards these dragons, he knew he had to get her out and get her to the Heretic Knight. He couldn’t descend himself as that would simply attract the Shade to Storm, so he carved out the Lion constellation from the sky and breathed life into it. He sent it down to not just break her out of the unjust prison and guide her on her journey. It's a journey it continues to follow her on.

Storm was born to parents who were devoted worshippers of the Stormcatcher, a devotion she naturally followed into. As she grew, it became quite clear that she had the favour of the Stormcatcher, for she would often attract the most lightning during the ceremonial dance. Hence, at a very young age she became the head priestess for the hall of worship in the Highland Scrub that she was a part of. This position granted her healing abilities at the behest of the Stormcatcher, ones that she would use extensively on not just the warriors who returned from battles against the shade-touched, but also many dragons who found their way to her temple, despite the protest of the others in the temple.

Her name started to become known not just in the Scrub, but also in the Carrion Canyon and the Charged Barrens, and many injured dragons from both those locations would come having heard of her kind-heartedness. A fact that irked a few of the older priests and priestesses, who had already been unsatisfied with her abrupt rise to power. They couldn’t do anything to her as many dragons were happy to support her, their plots would remain just that until a young shade-touched, who had been injured by his fellows, arrived at the doorsteps of the temple, never knowing that he was but a pawn in the Shade’s game.

“Head Priestess, please listen to reason, you cannot heal the Shade-touched.” said one of the other priests.

“I can, and I will, watch me” the naive Coatl defiantly announced and approached the young shade-touched. She started to work on his extensive wounds, she was surprised he survived so long. She had him transported to the healing chamber where she began treating him and seemed to be making progress until suddenly he bit her, then an ominous voice sounded “Let’s see what sparky does when I have you.”

Meanwhile, those around her saw a war between her naturally vibrant turquoise and an unnatural black that seemed to travel back and forth across her body. They heard the growls of pain, but at that moment, they didn’t care. They had found their reason, hence they promptly sent her to the dungeons and labelled her a heretic, who had accepted the Shade. Then began the game, to be the next head priest or priestess not caring for the young soul suffering down below in the darkness, outside of the occasional visits to taunt her.

In the dark lay still a gaunt coatl, surrounded by lightning that was as smirched by darkness much like her skin. Yet this picture of horror was nothing in comparison to the battlefield that was her mind. Shade kept playing scenes that were occurring outside.

Look how they destroy your reputation.

In Storm's mind she saw the numerous priests, preaching about the renegade, a stain upon the name of those devoted to the Stormcatcher.

She has given herself fully and freely to the Shade”.

She turned to the masses hoping to see anger at these accusations. Oh she found anger and even disgust, but it was directed towards the heretic, towards her. Her faith in her fellows shook, but her faith in the deity that had favoured her did not.

“Oh Lord of Storms and Lightning, help this one, give me the strength to withstand this trial” she prayed

Look as they desecrate the halls that you walked

She saw one of her elders stab another and then walk away, while saying

Put the blame on her, make him a martyr who died preventing her escape”.

She knew that the dragon being referred to was herself. She once again saw the crowds full of anger and calling for her head, while the very same elder gave the guise of a benevolent priest who prayed that she would one day see the wrong in her acts. Her faith in her fellows waned further.

“Oh Lord, help me keep my faith” she prayed now, with a bit less strength.

Look as they use sparky’s name to justify their crimes

The scene was one of horror, blood flowed like water with bodies strewn across the landscape, at the centre of this stood the priest and a kneeling pearlcatcher family, the priest said “Where is the Pearl of the ancient one? Tell me, and I won’t harm you”.

At this despite protests the eldest pointed to a cave “It’s in there, but please spare us”.

Then the elder entered and came out with a pearl that was very old, then turned to one of the guards, “Take care of them”. When noticing the looks of betrayal on the faces of his victims, he simply said “He’s not me”.

What do we tell the others, my lord?” one of the guards asked as they walked away.

Punishment for their treachery against the Stormcatcher” This statement finally pushed the young coatl to give up on her faith in dragons, yet her faith in her deity stood, if not as firm as before.

“Stormcatcher, how can you let these acts go unpunished? If not for the nature of their actions then for the defilement of your name. Why?” she asked, her tone demanding for the first time.

Sparky isn’t listening, but I am, ask me and you can punish them yourself” said the poisonous whisper of the Shade.

Who says, I am not listening, I heard your pleas child, just couldn't answer. Not then, at least.” a deep male voice sounded in her head. Her body suddenly felt as if full of lightning, lightning which attacked the Shade energy, leaving her in somehow more pain than she had already experienced. She held on long enough to see a lion seemingly made of lightning come through the halls, and as she faded she heard “Your will and body were not strong enough earlier for the war that is about to be waged in both.

The next time she woke up, she was at the border between the Shifting Expanse and the Sunbeam Ruins. She saw the shining sun, and the shifting sands, for the first time in a long while and she cried, crying not just for the betrayal of her seniors but for the innocent victims she saw in her visions. She cried for the home that was no longer hers, or even worse was never hers. She felt a furred face rub against her own, which prompted her to look at it, to find a lion made of lightning trying to console her. In her shock in regards to such a creature, she could only scratch its head.

Do not shed tears for the past, child. There is nothing there that can be changed, look to the future, where everything is within your grasp.” the deep voice she had heard once more sounded in her head. She knew the voice was that of the Stormcatcher, but where she once would have been overwhelmed by the gesture, now she simply accepted it. It wasn’t that she wasn’t as devoted to the deity, but she simply had questions. “Good Child, you have moved past simply single-minded devotion. Lightning doesn’t look to another when it strikes.

“How can you allow such acts to continue, Lord? But if you won’t then I will” the coatl asked, while turning towards the direction of the temple, intent on cleansing it of the filth that polluted it. Her body suddenly became wracked with pain.

We deities long chose to keep our influence upon the world to a bare minimum, in consideration of the destruction we caused the last time we did. It’s also best if you don’t have such thoughts until you are able to cut off the Shade completely, I am currently only sealing it. Even then you need to learn how to fight, how to wage war.” the Stormcatcher seemed mournful for all three of those facts.

“Then how do I do that?” She asked a bit more gently.

There is one place for those who wish to fight the fate that the Shade has bestowed upon them. There is one dragon who can teach you to do both, Terror.

“The Heretic Knight?” Storm was genuinely surprised by the recommendation. Afterall, Terror’s reputation as a Heretic was one that had long been established.

He is about heretical as you are. Yes, he isn’t quite happy with us, deities, but we do not find fault with him. After all, he was affected by a war not his own. The storm doesn’t resent the dragon building shelter for itself and others to protect itself against the storm. His path is certainly different to the ones we have carved for our followers, but he is not the first, nor will he be the last to carve his own way. In addition, given the fact that his path is righteous, if a bit ruthless, he is the perfect teacher for you” the Stormcatcher reprimanded.

“Fine” Storm said, before she started to move towards the famous 6 Crests. She travelled for a while, seeing both the best and worst that Sorneith had to offer, until she came upon the famous sight of the Academy. The now travel-weary coatl braced herself for the contempt and disgust she had become used to before entering. But, that wouldn’t be what she found, the students did give her a second glance but, that was simply it. One wildclaw stopped and approached her, expecting a confrontation, she tensed.

“Woah, woah, I am not gonna hurt you, I was gonna ask if you needed help getting to the Head Office. Considering the fact that I can feel the Shade within you, I'm gonna guess that you came to talk to him. He’s unlikely to be at the head office, but the headmistress can probably help you find him.” The wildclaw said, raising his claws in a calming manner. Taken aback by the kindness, Storm nodded. The wildclaw turned to the others in his group, a bogsneak, a nocturne, and an obelisk, and said “You all go, I will catch up afterwards.” They nodded and left, while Storm and this wildclaw headed deeper into the academy catacomb. “I am Dracula, by the way, what is your name?”

“Storm” the coatl answered, still slightly uncomfortable.

“Storm as in the Priestess of the Highland Scrub of the halls of worship? The one they said had given into the Shade? Though I did take that with a grain of salt, your successors have been less than honourable. It seems my hunch was right.” Dracula asked, with a surprising amount of knowledge. Finally, they came to a modest office, in the centre of which sat a gentle looking guardian. “Headmistress, Storm here, has come to meet Senior Terror.”

“It’s fine Dracula, you can go and study. Sin expects a lot from you, so do prepare well.” the guardian said, before Dracula he gave Storm a comforting smile and left. “Storm, sent by the Stormcatcher, I presume.” she said gently. “I am Myst, and if what you seek is truly freedom from the Shade, I can offer the assistance of Sin, if that is your final goal. But I fear that is not the path you seek.”

“No, it is not.” her curt reply elicited a mournful sigh from Myst.

“Very well, Let’s go then, Terror, must be resting from his last mission.” Myst said before guiding her outside the catacombs and across various terrains, until they came upon a small domain, where Storm suddenly felt the shade energy with her be pulled.

“Myst, why have you bought this one here?” a gravelly voice sounded from the darkest corner of the domain. Storm perceived a mirror resting there, also the direction where the shade energy within was pulled towards. “Ah, the Stormcatcher sent you.”

“Yes sir. I need the power to fight those wrongs that I saw.” Storm said.

“First, you must let me observe your memories.” Terror, said harshly, when Myst seemed to disapprove of that idea. “No Myst, this is needed, you know what happened to those who took the oath, and didn’t adhere to it. Before I set her on this path, I must know I am not dooming her.”

“Ok” Storm acquiesced and could feel a third presence in her mind. He filtered through her memories. Shade seemed to begin to roil, attempting to reject him but couldn’t do much due to the presence of the Stormcatcher.

“Hello, there Stormcatcher, I didn’t expect you to have a presence in her mind.”

It was my own blessing that doomed this child, it would be a poor show of me to not at least assist the best I can.

“That is true. You do know what will happen once she takes the oath, right. Are you still willing to let me teach her?”

Which is why I have sent her Leo.

“Very well, I will take her as my student.”

Then you have my gratitude.

Do not ignore me, you brat

“Oh do keep quiet, the only ones who like your voice are yourself and those idiots who worship you”

As Storm felt Terror leave, she could sense the presence of the Shade being bound further, and the Stormcatcher reduced his own presence. He also left behind a meditation technique. Then, he gave her a nod. He turned towards Myst and said “Ask Sin to make a trip to Scrubs, and search for an injured imperial. Poor child has been used by the Shade and thrown away.” Then he shifted his focus onto Storm.

“From now on you will be a student of mine, You will be my first student, my heir. One day, when I can no longer defend the Crests, it will be your duty to take my place. You will be expected to wage war against the Shade-worshipper, forever more in conflict with them. Do I make myself clear?” His voice gained a sense of authority. Storm was astounded by how easy it was, having expected more fanfare. But she still knew to nod. “Then go meditate using the technique I left, it will help prepare you physically and mentally for the oath.”

As she moved towards a different corner in the shade energy domain, she heard Myst say “What would teacher or junior, have said, if they knew you would be the first of us to take a student.”, his reply of “Something annoyingly optimistic” , brought a smile to her face. Thus began a period of rapid improvement, where she learned to not only manipulate the shade energy from Terror, but also lightning from the Stormcatcher. She got so good, she managed to fuse the two.

She also managed to seamlessly fuse into and lead the second generation of the 6 Crests of Hades. She blossomed as a dragon and leader, with Myst having taken her under her wing believing, rightly so, that her mate would not be the best influence on a young impressionable dragon. She was proven right with his second student. Finally, after many days, where she trained her mind, after many missions that could result in the loss of her life, it was the day she would take the oath.

“I won’t be able to talk to you after the oath, will I?” Storm asked the Stormcatcher.

No, child. But you will no longer need my guidance.” he replied.

“But I will still pray to you.”

I know, and you shall have my blessings in all your actions. In addition, I will be able to converse with that junior of yours, Cloud. Interesting, it seems my destiny with the 6 Crests, is not yet at an end.

In the cave close by, a formation specially crafted with the collaboration of Terror, Myst, and Firin. Sat. The purpose of the formation was to lessen the influence of the Shade, increase the concentration of any elemental or shade energy. Sin and Terror were observing the formation being used by an imperial by the name of Cloud, the second student of Sin, who was becoming a peaceblood.

“It feels like only yesterday, we took our own oaths, and today, our own are taking them. And see how far we have come from then.” Sin commented.

“The elders carve a path, so that the juniors may not stumble when they walk.” Terror replied with a prideful smile, understanding the pride he often saw in his own teacher, when he saw his student come in. “Storm, are you ready?”

“Yes, but Teacher, could you increase the density of Lightning and Shade energy, and disable the function that lessens the influence of the Shade. It’s time she learned of the second heretic” Storm said with a feral grin.

“You know Senior Terror, I sometimes imagine that Senior Myst managed to curb your influence on your first student, and then she says something like that with a face like.” Sin commented with a laugh, Terror just gave a grin that matched his students. The imperial had finished his conversion, and Sin took him out of the cave knowing that it will be saturated with the Shade’s presence and shade energy soon.

What can you do to me, child?” A presence she hadn’t felt in a while sounded, as the Stormcatchers presence receded. “You only relied on those stronger than you.

“The blood of those who worshipped you on my hands begs to differ. But I invited you to hear my oath, my warblood oath.”

Today, I swear an oath,
An oath of War,
With my blood as witness,
I swear that all shall know the kindness of my shade,
I swear that all shall know the wrath of my lightning.

The lightning and shade energy gathered around her, forming two cores. A dark incense and six lightning spheres. Her skin became permanently smirched by both. Hence was born the second Warblood of the 6 Crests of Hades, whose reputation would be forged when she would confront those who betrayed her with their own misdeeds and her dance through battlefields between the Shade and the Crests.
