╔═Status════════════════════════════╗
Terror is the leader of the Shade Crest, where he serves as a role model to any aspiring warrior among the Crests and the students despite his title as the Heretic Knight. His demeanor earned him a few close dragons but many enemies. At the top of that long list would be the shade-touched clans who worshipped the Shade. Along with the devout of the deities, who see him as the start of a larger play, the end result of which would be usurpation of the deities, yet the most they can do is call him a heretic. On the other hand, Terror has many admirers across the globe, for he is the first dragon who created a path to be completely outside the influence of the deities and the shade. Many of them are unsatisfied with the deities for one reason or another, while the minority respect him due to the fact that he holds no obligation to the world yet still tries to hunt the shade-touched thus, calling him the knight. His loved one’s know that he has got their backs but don’t always trust him with the food, after the “immunization” process.

╔══════════════════════════Familiar═╗
In the month of the darkest nights and the shortest days, the hatchling, Terror, had yet to meet the teacher who would change his life. In Tangled Woods, he roamed like the outcast that his inheritance had made him. On a night when the sounds of the nocturne rang through the woods, the outcast could go no further on the remnants of food he had found. He knew if he didn’t move he would be prey to either the Serthis or Talonok, but despite his desperation his body would simply not move. When his mind could not hold it any longer, his mind followed his body into lethargy. When he came to, he was surrounded by many normally inanimate objects, it seemed they had for one reason or another protected him during his bout of unconsciousness. So he did what any polite terrified young hatchling would do, he thanked them and made a run for it. When he looked back, he could see that the one that had followed him was a pair of swords and a shield. It would witness the rise of the Heretic Knight as his familiar, both made for war.

╔═Lore══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
“Get away from my child, shade-touched” is a rather understandable statement considering the reputation of the shade-touched but just another reminder to the young hatchling just how unwelcome he was to this world for something he wasn’t even responsible for. The young dark mirror was thus shooed away under the watchful eyes of the worried parents.

Accept my influence, young one, after all what is there for you among the dragons” whispered the voice in the hatchling’s head. Shade. “You could become one of the greatest warriors among my ranks, your ancestors have certainly set such a precedent.

“And why should I follow their precedent, especially after the fact that I don’t even know my ancestry.” said the hatchling as if this wasn’t the first time that the offer had been put on the table.

Fine child, I will leave you alone for now but one day you will be a great general under my command

“Yeah, yeah, whatever,"" muttered the young one dismissively, as he continued travelling through the Tangled Woods with his familiar. Soon enough, he could see the characteristic light and ruins of the Sunbeam Ruins. This was his destination as his innate allegiance was to the Lightweaver and thus wished to prove himself in combat so that the deity would take mercy on him and help expel the Shade from his body.

Who would have known that as soon as he crossed the border he would be captured by an imperial of a clan on the border of the region.

“Wait till father sees this creature, I have captured” said the imperial while he held the child’s familiar under his claws. “ Maybe he will give up the foolish notion of merging the clans, or I can present this thing to them maybe”

“My lord what do we do with this thing?” said one of the guards holding the struggling hatchling

“Let’s take it with us, I am sure the researchers of my friend’s clan would like such a specimen.” He responded. The party is hence split in two. With the Imperial going one way and the guards another. Regardless of how much the hatchling struggled, the guards would just not let go. So the hatchling, out of desperation to protect himself and his friend, did the one thing he had sworn never to do. Reach out to Shade.

Finally child, accept my embrace, use my power” the Shade replied. But the hatchling was not satisfied with the superficial level of control he had dug deeper into the shade that had seeped into his very blood. Unbeknownst to the Shade, some of its shade had been stolen. However, just when the child was about to unleash his power, another imperial approached the guards.

“What are you doing?” he commanded with a pressure that only came from being assured of one’s abilities.

“We were escorting this creature outside of the clan, M’lord” one of the guards replied, clearly they did not want this imperial to know about the delivery.

“That is a dragon, and a hatchling at that” this was the first time anyone had referred to the young mirror as anything besides “shade-touched”, “thing”, or “creature”. The shock of it knocked him out of his frenzy.

“But M’lord he is shade-touched.”

“And you are clearly an ignoramus who can’t tell if a shade-touched is in control of his facilities or not. This child right here has done nothing wrong yet. Had I been a second late, this poor child would have given himself into the Shade and I would be looking at your corpses” This imperial had noticed the mirror's desperation and his willingness to give into the Shade. “Sheesh, give me the child”

“But, M’lord the young master,....""

“That was a command, if you don’t follow them you will find yourself in a very hard situation. As for my nephew, he will get his fair share of trouble” with that the guards let go, the hatchling noticed that the guards were shaking, like terrified shaking. He could not understand why this dragon helped him, all he knew was that this dragon had held out a claw to him. Quite literally, he held out his hand and pointed at his shoulders as if telling the hatchling to get on, and when he didn’t react he was picked up and put on the dragon’s shoulders. “My name is Hades, what is yours?”

“M’lord, they took my friend.” Despite being asked a question, the young one chose to tell Hades his issue to avoid facing the fact that he did not have one.

“Okay, then I’ll call you kiddo for now, tell me when you decide on a name.” It was as if he knew the child’s dilemma. “Now, what is it about this young one’s friend.” the pressure returned.

“M’lord, the young master has decided to present it to the Old Master.” The guard replied, seemingly gaining some courage from just saying that. Though it was unfounded for before he could further expand on his answer he and his partner found themselves in the mud while Hades rushed towards the center of the clan. Despite the speed the young mirror quite enjoyed the ride on Hades’s shoulder, whether it be the sense of protection or the simple thrill of power he didn’t know yet. Before he knew it he was in a structure larger than anything he had seen before. They quickly entered the hall and came upon a door. Here, Hades struck his ears against the door, watching this the youngling decided to imitate.

“M’lord, why are we doing this?” he asked

“Listen kiddo, we are about to burst into the room righteously, so it’s all about timing we do it now we look like buffoons, we do it too late we look like uninvited guests. And I know my nephew won’t give a true account of the events which would just be a hassle to disprove, not hard just annoying.” he explained to the little mirror as if bestowing the secret of the world. The two could hear a faint ”Father, I have bought you an offering”. And just as he had promised, Hades burst through the door shouting “Nephew, do you know no shame, you have taken this young one’s familiar and are now presenting it to your father, such insolence. First you commit a disgraceful act and are now pushing your stolen goods on to your father.”

“No uncle, I won it in combat.” The prince replied, having not yet seen the child on Hades’s shoulder. He was clearly hoping that Hades didn’t have the full information.

“With a child, while guards assisted you.” Then Hades picked the youngling off his shoulder and put him on the ground. “With this child.” There was a clear sigh of disapproval for the young master before a rapid intake of breath as they realized the identity of the child. There were whispers among the elders as they looked at him with the same fearful or wrathful eyes. The hatchling tried to hide himself behind Hades as much as he could.

“Is this true? Son” finally the imposing imperial sitting on the throne spoke.

“But father, he is just a shade-touched monster, I felt it best to rescue it.” the Prince tried to justify it once more.

“Who was about to give in to the Shade because of your actions. Do you know how terrifying a shade-touched who has given in to the Shade is, Huh? You are incompetent at best and an absolute disgrace at worse.” Hades shouted before turning to the dragon on the throne “Come on, Osiris, you know just as well as I do that shade-touched who haven’t given in to the shade are victims of the Shade just as much as we are if not more.”

“Yes, I know that Hades so we will return his familiar to him and he will be escorted out of the clan.” Osiris replied. He was clearly telling Hades not to do anything more and to have anymore contact with this shade-touched. “As for my son, he will be properly punished, he must serve as the caretaker of the library.”

“Yes, father” Despite his unwillingness, it was clear he was too afraid of his father. He brought the swords and shield to the hatchling, baring his fangs at the child hoping to see some fear. What he saw was instead a darkness that threatened to overwhelm him. For the first time he felt the instinctive fear of the Shade.

“About that, I think I could possibly teach him to break his shade away from the Shade and help the clan.” Hades interrupted.

“What do you mean? Hades. We know your interest in the Shade but don’t throw around such foolish thoughts.” Osiris replied.

""My research has led me to believe that when they're shade-touched until they accept Shade, they can siphon shade energy from it and steal it away, essentially a parasite. This is why Shade tries to bring shade-touched under its influence, especially those like this child whose bloodline holds multiple shade-touched in its lineage, including many who never gave up.” Hades explained. There were many elders who seemed to be aware of this research and started discussing it with their neighbors. At which point the room was divided into two, those who thought such a troop would help the clan and others who did not like the idea of so many shade-touched. Osiris looked across the hall and could see the former outnumbered the latter due to their nearly blind trust in his brother.

“Since I know you wouldn’t listen to me either way you might as well on one condition you must live at the border of the clan. Your mate and child will stay at your family lair. They may visit you once a month. Is that understood?” Osiris stated while admitting defeat as if he already knew which way the argument would end from constant experience.

“Ok, But I got to ask Kiddo first.” he turned around and in a solemn voice continued. “Kiddo, today I present you the opportunity to come under my tutelage. Since I have no other students you would be the eldest and hold the responsibility of protecting your future juniors. You would be bound to me and to never betray my trust do you accept?” there were gasps across the hall as Hades was known for his lack of desire for a proper student.

“Yes” was the word that started a gruelling time for the young one, wherein he would train his physical and mental strength. Alongside this he learned the ability to use shade energy and increase the rate at which he siphoned energy from the Shade. The increased rate made the Shade even more hurried to recruit him, though once it became clear that the hatchling would not surrender, it tried its best to scramble his mind by using their connection. But the teacher and student pair only saw these attempts as free food as the energy manipulation of the Shade was mediocre at best when compared to the hatchling. Though who could blame it, when one has infinite energy one doesn’t need to optimize control. So the hatchling grew peacefully into a terrifying existence without the knowledge of anyone besides his teacher.

This utopia abruptly ended one day when the news of his teacher’s son being killed came in. This news was soon followed by even more terrible news, the death of Hades’s brother, mate and brother-in-law. The two clans were now headed by the nephews of Hades and his mate. The once harmonious clans soon fell into disarray. Wolves were closing in, but this time Hades chose to leave despite his ability.

“You are leaving because of me aren’t you.” the black mirror asked the imperial next to him while travelling at speeds not possible, and unlike the graceful imperial he seemed to leave a shadow as he moved.

“No Kiddo, the wolves were invited into the clan by snakes. My family should have heeded the warning of one of our most loyal subjects when he gifted us shadow serpentskin. This is not your fault nor is the fact that we are leaving.” Hades replied, one could hear the heaviness in his voice that it lacked a mere month ago.

“I was the reason that you lived away from your lair and family. Had you been there, even if someone had the courage to assassinate your child they would not have the ability.” The mirror replied with a guilt-laden voice.

“No, kiddo this could have happened even if I had not met you. I could have been out hunting. The reason this did happen is because the clan started to forget the terror of disunity. The reason why our ancestors had chosen to ally.” The imperial said this while coming to a stop on the cliff of one of the ruins overseeing a battlefield of the most brutal kind.

“Teacher, what if I became the Terror that forces them to be peaceful? They are already afraid of me.” the mirror said with a sad gaze at the war below.

“Why not, Kiddo? Look down below not like Hades did them any good.” Hades replied, and thus overlooking the battlefield, a legend was given name. Hades and Terror roamed the globe of Sorneith, while Hades took in 6 more students, Terror spread, well terror, whenever he heard of conflict caused by arguments between clans. He would go threaten them into alliance by physical violence that attacked the ones responsible. While the clan appreciated the sentiment, they feared the method.
“Senior, you know I am about to establish the Crests of Hades?” said a luminous spiral

“Junior, I know, and before you ask I am willing to stand guard.” Terror said without hesitation while showcasing one of his rare smiles reserved for only his juniors like the 7th student of Hades in front of him.

“Actually, about that instead of 6 Crests of Hades, I was hoping for it to be the 7 Crests of Hades. With you at the head of it like me and the other seniors.” The spiral said. Instantly the smile on Terror’s face disappeared.

“And what, spoil the legacy of our teacher, huh? Who would even wish to join me, in my crest, I am an outcast to both the dragons and the shade-touched.” Terror roared with such ferocity that one would not be sure whether he was telling his junior or convincing himself. Seeming to get a hold of himself, he lowered his head and turned around “I stopped wishing for such dreams a long time ago, to stand shoulder to shoulder with you, Myst and the rest in the light is an impossibility in this lifetime. I am shade-touched regardless of my methods.”

“But, I heard from teacher that you had devised a way to cut yourself away from the Shade and possibly produce shade energy yourself. You just haven’t embarked on that route yet. So why won’t you teach other shade-touched like yourself to walk away from the Shade.” the spiral indignantly shouted but seeing no response coming turned around and started leaving before saying “There will always be a place for the 7th Crest.” This was the last conversation between the two. That very day, Terror’s junior went missing and after much searching they found his body 3 days later. The remnants of the energy used to wound him was one all too familiar to Terror. Shade energy.

With his understanding of the energy, it wasn’t very hard to track down the dragon responsible. He found a group of dragons, all shade-touched, and all worshipping the Shade. They then turned around and faced the lone mirror.

“The Lord told us we could expect one of our brothers who has strayed from the lord’s embrace” the one in the lead spoke. They started attacking with no hesitation and regard for their own safety. Black flashed through the day as the sole dragon fought off and killed the majority of the group. Then when only the leader was left a new voice emerged from his mouth “Hello, my child. We haven’t spoken in many days.” the voice rang within Terror’s mind as well moving past his mental defences. Suddenly, he understood the Shade’s plan, with the death of a close one and the constant battles, it had wished to make his mind weak. “You shall be mine child.

“No, that will never be the case.” he replied “I always hesitated in taking the final step. I was afraid of completely cutting you off. But now i have no hesitation.” Then Terror drenched in blood spoke

Today, I swear an oath,
An oath of War,
With my blood as witness,
I swear that all those who resist shall be shielded,
I swear that all those who give in shall be hunted.

Suddenly, all the shade energy in the surrounding was absorbed by Terror, his skin grew darker until extreme darkness gave birth to light, the light of stars. Thus the first Shadeblood was born.

With a heavy expression, he returned to his teacher. He then went on to create the Shade Crest where he continues to fulfill his oath.
