╔═Status════════════════════════════╗
Hecate had become someone worthy of the title Ever Omnimancer a long time before she held it, as the diviner of the Dark Circle. There as the evil of the obelisk contaminated her, she practised her arts ranging from stealing the secrets of necromancy from the greatest of necromancers to understanding the relationship between the 11 elements of the world all were grasped by her, yet the world would not know of her until she came under the tutelage of Hades. Even then, she was outshone by his other students, each having more achievements than she listed under their name. That was true until one of them released a theory of hers regarding magic that was it all. Then the Dark circle came forward and told the world regarding her status as one of them, further catapulting her name to the standards her fellow students were held at. Therefore, no one questions her position as the Leader of the Magic, while also calling her the Ever Omnimancer, a magician who had made a new path of magic all together.

╔══════════════════════════Familiar═╗
Long before she would be called the Ever Omnimancer, she had just come under the tutelage of Hades and had earned her place among his students. Despite her great understanding of the elements, innate disposition to magic, and the assistance of the Obelisk of Iteyna, her ability to work with them was still highly raw. It was further enhanced by the constant invasion of the Obelisk into her mind leaving her with little to concentrate on. A solution was soon found by her teacher whereby she would create a false copy of her consciousness which she could allow the obelisk to invade, as she wished to retain her status as the Diviner. Therefore, Firin helped her forge a few orbs she could try setting her consciousness into. Through much trial and error, they found the exact spot Obelisk’s influence came from: a contract of sorts. Using the elements as a medium, they shifted the contract into the orbs which now held a portion of her mind, which grew to better assist Hecate in the field of magic.

╔═Lore══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
“Come forth, young initiate,"" said a cloaked dragon as she led a rather young pearlcatcher to an obelisk. “This is the Obelisk of Iteyna, it has chosen many diviners before you, today you too will gain not only its powers but also its cruelty. You will serve the Dark Circle and its leaders as its diviner."" The young pearlcatcher then approached the obelisk as if attracted by it before she truly touched it. Her pearl and skin turned purple. She knew of a loss in her very being but she did not feel despair. For that very thing seemed foreign to her, her emotions were no more. She understood that they were an obstruction to the Obelisk, thus it eradicated them or at least sealed them away.

Rather than the directness of the Shade, the influence of the Obelisk was more subtle. Unlike the instinctive and impulsive nature of the Shade, the obelisk provides valid reasoning which due to the lack of emotion in the dragon meant it would always win unless the consequences were absolutely horrendous for the dragon.

The stealing of the necromancer’s grimoire, will result in not only the gain of knowledge but also in the reduction in the necromancer’s powers. This would mean that he would not be able to kill as many dragons as well as be more easily killed. Therefore, there is no harm in forceful acquisition of the grimoire.

Despite the diviner’s best of intentions, she has caused nothing but fright and panic which in turn have induced simple deaths to the bloodiest of massacres. Therefore, the best course of action would be to eliminate her as well as acquire all her knowledge regarding divinations, so as to allow the Dark Circle to optimally prepare for any events that might harm it’s foundations.

Practicing the control of elements before the complete understanding of them can result in the practice of an error as of yet unseen.

Such arguments ensured that the young pearlcatcher always did what was best for the Circle for century after century. Even after so long she held no notoriety or fame for no one knew she even existed. However, within the Circle she became known as Hecate, a goddess of Magic that the beings of the second era believed in. It was a sign of respect for her as many of her generation had long since fallen, which meant that she was the oldest contributing diviner of the Circle, with many of her exploits being related to magic.

She had contributed so much to the Circle, that the Leader’s felt it a shame to let her be still controlled by the Obelisk of Iteyna. After so long, even without its influence, she would be loyal to the circle. Therefore, with the help of the massive collection of divination knowledge she had brought to the circle they devised a solution, a dragon to be more precise. Hades.

She was once more sent out on a mission, not knowing that this was a plot for her to be removed from the Obelisks influence. Her mission was to approach Hades and steal his knowledge.

Hades holds the knowledge of two ancient clans of shadow and light. Him not sharing it is a crime against the entirety of dragonkind. Therefore, his knowledge must be acquired for the prosperity of the circle.

Once more the argument rang in her head, with a clear line of reasoning. Therefore, without much hesitation she put on a disguise of one of the youths of the clan that Hades was residing in. They all wished to get closer to this dragon who not only held great wisdom and power himself but both of his student’s were revered or feared depending on who was asked. Thus it would be safe to assume that anyone who could become his student would rise through the ranks of power and join the true experts in Sornieth. Therefore, it would not be weird for Hecate to approach Hades.

She eventually managed to enter the hall where the Clan leader and Hades were. She entered with her head lowered and therefore could not see the knowing smile that played itself on Hades’s face. After all, he also knew a bit about divination, so while divining someone’s future might be hard, the past was far too simple. He could see but did not tell.

“Child, who are you?” he asked

“My name is Hecate.” she replied in a voice that seemed full of hope, appropriate for a youngster.

“Named after the goddess of magic that the residents of the previous era believed in I presume.” he said

“Yes, sir” Hecate could feel something was off regarding the way the dragon said those words.

“If you would please excuse me.” Hades said to the clan leader, who immediately nodded, showing his acceptance. Hades turned to Hecate. “Follow me”. Her instincts told her that everything was going wrong but the Obelisk would not return from a mission having failed it. She followed him out into the corridors. “You know Hecate, in Sornieth there exists a group called the Dark Circle. Due to them being constantly hunted they were forced into accepting a truly evil object as a method of revenge against those who have hunted them. It is said that a special group of them completely accept the Obelisk and use it for the Circle. I pity them.”

“You pity me” she said, reverting to the normal emotionless voice knowing that her truth had been exposed. “What right do you have to pity me, child? I have seen far more winters than you ever will, I have seen the rise of far more heroes than you even know. I have lived through history.”

“And yet you have never experienced life, you have never charged through winter in hope of summer. You have never attempted to rise as a hero. You have built that history through your own hands. In my eyes you are the child for while your mind is controlled by that obelisk, you have never grown.” he replied. He then motioned towards a pair of dragons in the courtyard. One darker than the abyss, the other holier than the so-called sages. They were sitting comfortably together with a pair of weapons and a book flying around them. “My eldest student, Terror, endured the ridicule of the world for his belief, his mate and my second student, Myst, hid from that world to protect those closest to her. Today they stand together despite their differences. For Terror, she is his solace, while for Myst, he is the shield that will protect regardless of what the world throws at them. For me, they are my children, the ones I must protect for I could not protect my own. For Terror, I am a father. For Myst, I am her saviour. That is what it means to be a dragon. There is nothing that can replace it. So child, go meet them, see for yourself.” he gestured towards the pair before promptly leaving her standing in the corridor.

Such emotions are unnecessary and will only impede your work as the diviner.

Something buried deep within made her somewhat hesitant to accept the argument, but that feeling quickly vanished as the obelisk suppressed the emotion. She approached the pair but as she got closer, she felt that the obelisk seemed fearful and almost reverent towards the black mirror.

“Hello, you were just talking to our teacher. I am Myst and it seems I will be your senior.” the white guardian said while smiling. On the other hand, the mirror didn’t even acknowledge her presence.

“I doubt that as he is far too young to teach me anything.” she said without the slightest change in her tone.

“Then why are you here to steal his knowledge?"" the mirror spoke with a cruel smile. Now Hecate is completely on guard. How could this dragon know her mission objective? “You should probably leave before I have an outburst. Keeping Shade at bay is hard enough when I am not utterly enraged.”

This dragon is keeping the Shade at bay while also using its power. We must acquire it. Considering his attitude, his existence could be hostile to the dragon population at large. Therefore, a forceful soul search will not only give us the method but also remove this possible future threat.

One of the few arts the Obelisk had allowed her to learn was the soul scan, a cruel method cooked by mixing knowledge of necromancy and animomancy, the latter being magic that was related to the mind. It would rip the soul of the dragon out before scanning through it for any information.

“You know I have seen that look before, whatever you ar…..” Hecate never heard the end of that warning as her mind was already reaching out for this dragon’s soul. But she could feel the inherent fear of being of a higher status from the Obelisk. Suddenly Shade rushed towards her mind. Right before she lost all control of her faculty, she heard. “You can’t blame me, I warned her.” As Terror looked at Myst

Aaah, a new body, child you entered that brat’s soul just now for me, Accept my control.” a voice that sounded eerily like the Obelisk’s but with a completely different tone.

Hecate started to feel an unfamiliar sensation as the Shade suppressed the influence of the Obelisk and released her once dormant emotions. She could feel terror. Shade's assault wreaked havoc on what little of her mind remained free of. Then she felt another entity enter her mind.

“The last time someone invaded my mind, there wasn’t much left of theirs. Yours was different, novel, but nothing that would protect it. But it seems that being the diviner of the Circle for centuries has made your mind stronger than the average dragon. Let me give you a hand with the Shade.” the voice seemed to echo across her mind.

Brat, don’t you dare to do anything untoward.” The Shade seemed almost afraid.

“I’ll do what I do best, consume your energy. Hahaha.” all the darkness of the Shade gathered towards the voice. “Maybe I should do this more often, it definitely sends more when attacking normal dragons. Maybe the initial conversion takes more energy.” The voice seemed to be thinking out loud. “Hmm, what is this, it feels like the Shade but it is something else. Ahh, this must be the mark of the obelisk. I’ll just seal the connection until Teacher thinks it is the right time.” With that both the Obelisk and the voice faded away.

There she was for once alone in her mind. Her emotions were sealed once more along with her connection with Obelisk. Her life seemed to flow through her mind and paused at every moment where she followed Obelisk's instruction. It gave her a chance to argue against what Obelisk had said.

“While the dragon was a necromancer, the only souls and bodies he used were of dragons who themselves had caused much chaos and bloodshed in Sornieth. The reduction resulted in him not being able to defend against villains in the guise of heroes who spared neither the elderly nor young of his clan. While necromancy is viewed as evil, is it truly so? Are the preventive measures taken against such magic fundamentally good?”

“Had I taught the diviner my knowledge regarding astromancy, and the broader branch of divination, fatummancy. Maybe instead of causing chaos with her death, she could have resolved certain problems without declaring them due to her newfound power. Was the Obelisk right?”

“Yes, practising magic without a comprehensive understanding of the elements could be disastrous but such disasters are the reason why so many fields of magic have been discovered. The Obelisk was wrong.”

She came to a resounding conclusion. While the obelisk had given solid arguments, they were often limited in a way to convey its point. It did not give a holistic look at the situation and only presented outcomes which benefitted it. The arrival of this revelation allowed her to further scrutinize the situation throughout her life. She found that most if not all situations had better alternatives in regards to the decision she made. In fact, the best decision for her in the current situation would have been to take Hades as her teacher as he was known to be a very caring teacher who would not withhold any information from his students, while Terror would share his knowledge were Hades to tell him so considering the bond between the two. However, this action could also result in the expulsion of the obelisk’s influence, therefore the obelisk had not suggested it.

This conclusion seemed to be the answer her subconscious was looking for as soon after this she woke up to seeing two dragons leaning over her checking her health. One was Hades while the other was Myst. She quickly got up and did a quick check on her general health before looking over at the two, who were clearly relieved before looking at a distant figure.

“What? I warned her. It was her choice to invade my mind. I even helped remove the Shade.” the distant figure responded.

“Child, are you willing to accept me as your teacher now?” Hades asked.

“Taking you as a teacher is the most reasonable course of action, therefore yes.” she replied, and in the coming years would prove to her that it was the right decision. She finally practiced magic and with Hades’s help she had managed to merge all the different fields of magic into a singular, Omnimancy. It was not the source of magic but rather the ever-growing end point of magic. She also managed to completely separate the Obelisk from herself while maintaining her status as the diviner of the Circle. Unfortunately the first emotion she felt in centuries was not happiness but sorrow, deep and intense sorrow as she looked at the corpse of her youngest junior.

She could feel the wrath oozing from the bodies of Terror, Sin, and Nyx but found herself lacking enough willpower to get mad, only being able to sob uncontrollably. She saw Terror leave through her wet tears and only found herself sinking deeper in the waves of sadness. She turned to Hades who was attempting to curb his sorrow.

“If you wish to suppress your sorrow, why did you release mine? Tell me.” she shouted with an almost deranged mind.

“One must first experience the pain before one has any right to suppress it.” he simply replied with a look that conveyed a thousand words. She mourned with her fellow students but soon after changed into a determination to see her junior’s dream and now leads the 6 Crests of Hades.
