Made manifest and mated to Dyaell by the will of the Gladekeeper, in the year* of Earth. It was the Autumn Dryad, Kyiinae who found the newly hatched pair, while helping other small critters make preparations for the winter. niiena & dyaell niiena was surprised by this new manifestation, they had always been female before. He...unfurled himself from the remnants of his shell and felt the reassuring warmth of life surrounding him. The warmth of the wood and the warmth of the other egg beside him. Tired already from the effort of hatching he curled around her and slept.

Kyiinae stretched along the bough, her little green toes curling, hands poised and pointed ears twitching…. waiting.

she’d found the tiny eggs at the base of her home like they’d just grown there. She’d never seen it happen before but her great-grand-mother had. It seemed the Dryads of Squirrel Tree would host dragons again.

kyiinae knew there was only one thing to do for her family, and that was to have these dragons grateful. So she snatched up the nest of bugs and swung down to the new fae, they were peculiar little things just hatched, straggly like twigs, frilly wings then, like maple leaves, she supposes that’s why she kind of reluctantly likes them, at least aesthetically.

she taps the second egg, and the first hatched startles, flaring all it’s wings and frills at the disturbance, its green and orange, Kyiinae pinches a bug and holds it right to the faes’ nose, it eats the bug instinctively, and the second fae tumbles out of its’ shell. this one is green and blue and it scrabbles toward the next juicy bug Kyiinae holds out, the orange winged one is still all flared and this makes the blue winged one wary. Kyiinae shrugs, they know her now, and she leaves the nest of bugs and the hatchlings be. Darting of back up to her own cozy den high amongst the branches.

Dyaell then nibbles cautiously on a bug, while Niiena assesses what their situation is.

They have manifest at a Dryad Tree, and at least it hadn’t just crushed their eggs before they’d hatched. he turns then to study his mate, peers into her unfocused **Green** eyes. Nature, he doesn’t recall if he’s manifest in Nature before.

So they are niiena & dyaell of Nature, and a dryad, orange, Autumn Dryad has provided their first meal. they are in the trunk of the tree, surrounded by fluff and fur and leaves, squirrel fur. red squirrel fur, so they are. we are red squirrel clan. dyaell suggests around a mouthful of bug, so niiena agreed to something slightly different to what she’d thought. and so named them weeredsquirrel.
{they still argue lightheartedly about the clan name, Including the Dryad who insisted they were the squirrel tree clan, because that’s what her family had always called the tree, and themselves, before you pesky dragons came and started renaming everything!}
